As a culture, Americans are often overworked and under-played. Chill Zone guides you through the art of relaxation, finding healthy ways to socialize, slowing the pace so that you are in coast mode rather than hyper-drive.
Take Back Your Time is a major U.S./Canadian initiative to challenge the epidemic of overwork, over-scheduling and time famine that threatens our health, our families and relationships, our communities, and our environment. We miss out on so much of value, they say, when we indulge in workaholic behaviors.

You get to enjoy time with family and friends. You get to engage in life-enhancing experiences. I’m sure you have your own list, but some of mine would be planting a garden, walking in the woods or on a beach, dancing, practicing yoga, hosting a pot luck gathering, singing and playing music together with family and friends, and napping/meditating on a blanket in the sun.

The Chill Zone guides you through the art of relaxation, finding healthy ways to socialize, slowing the pace so that you are in coast mode rather than hyper-drive. Chill Zone helps us open up to different priorities. We get to ask, must we really work beyond our ability to endure, in order to support ourselves and our families?

Future articles will include how to throw a chill out party, creating daily relaxation rituals, and the health benefits of easy-does-it.
